A specialist in continuous tax advice, Cañizares has extensive experience advising and representing Spanish and foreign multinational companies of a wide range of industries: financial, automotive, pharmaceutical, food, energy and third sector. Likewise, his practice focuses on corporate tax, international tax matters, real estate tax law and advice to family offices and high net worth individuals.
He is regularly involved in restructuring transactions and litigation, with senior experience in audits carried out by the Spanish tax authorities and tax dispute resolutions before National and EU Courts (actions for annulment against decisions of Commission on State Aid in tax measures, antidumping and preliminary rulings). In recent years, he has been involved in advising transactions to acquire distressed real estate and mortgage debt portfolios for private equity funds.
